on 21 dec 1731 in Kerisalo, a Petter Sipilä and Ingeborg Immoin had a dr. Ingeborg.. Thus persons of Kerisalo used sipiXXX as a surname. This same Petter had earlier used Ruut as his surname at his marriage on 23oct1716

from Pertti Ahonen (2008): 2. The Erik Ruth born in 1748 is in my mind the gentleman who assumed a new family name of the ancestral farm Sipilä (named according to the venerable Sipi or Sigfrid who acquired it early in 17th century; I was lately reminded by somebody that there is a copper plate on this somewhere in Joroinen, Kerisalo, attached to a stone), namely Sipinen. He moved to what is now Virtasalmi but was at that time part of Pieksämäki, where in Tikkalanmäki village he passed away in 1823 after two marriages and numerous children from both of them (and grandchildren, etc.). - Thus, this Erik was indeed born Ruth but, through contingencies of history and life started using the family name Sipinen some time in the late 1780s or early 1790s. He indeed was born Ruth as you can find in the birth record. What b.t.w. seems to have misled people is that his father was Erik and his godfather Johan, whom I consider was the father of the other Erik Ruth... .

Helena was born according to my files in January 13th 1766.
Her father was Abraham Anthon b. 1732 in Joroinen, died 1789, and mother
Catharina Hielmman (they write it later Hjelmman) b. 1742 in Joroinen and
died there 1780.

The Hielmman family comes from the city of Viipuri (Wiborg) and they have
German ancestors. There is also a book on the family Hielmman.
My wife is descendant of Henric Johan Anthon, the younger brother of Helena
I live near in the city of Kaarina near Turku on the South Western coast.

On p 102 of 1774-85 rk (Kathkalax), is a person of her name and birthdate as “gift til p 76”, which is Kerisalo 2 where she is found as the wife of Eric Ruuth, born 1748, the son of Johan Ruuth, b 1707 and his wife Anna Glumera, b 1719. Erik and Lena Caisa are not in Kerisalo 2 during 1787-94, but instead are in Kerisalo 7 where Erik is described as the son of Anna Nyätar, b 1710 (died 1790). (on the same page is a Brita Ruthu, ??mor, b 1719, died 13 jan 1790).

Lena Caisa and Erik Sipinen married in 1784, she age 18 of Kerisalo, he a widower in Kerisalo

Then in the 1795-1804 RK (p 122 ), Erik Sipinen, born 1748, has replaced Erik Ruthu, born 1748, as the husband of Lena Caisa and they are in Kerisalo 8. If Erik Ruthu and Erik Sipinen are the same person using military and farm names, why is Erik Ruthu the son of Johan Ruthu and the son of Anna Nyätar? Was there a divorce of Johan and Anna? I should search for births in 1748 of Eriks and find the parents.
