an Eskel Moilan had a daughter Elin on 15 dec 1688 in Mikkeli...IGI
an Eskel Moilan had a daughter Carin on 14may1676-kopiot
a Pahr Moilan, b 1689 with wife Anna Utriain, b 1700, found on p 62 of 1750-57 rk, In Haukivuori, with other Moilans. They had children Olof, 1729 (who married 31.10.1750) ,Pahl, 1731, Anna, 1735, Magdal, 1739
We might be relatives, but in that case our roots meet some time late 1400s or early 1500s. The earliest Moilanens probably came from Carelia (Karjala in Finnish), from the northern side of lake Ladoga (Laatokka in Finnish). There are court-and taxprotocols of Moilanens from early 1400s living in areas south and east of Juva (especially in Rantasalmi and Sulkava parishes) and around today´s city of Savonlinna and to the east of it. My branch of Moilanens left to the northeastern part of Finland late 1500s to areas north and west of the city of Kajaani. We (this northern branch of today´s Moilanens) have a Family association and have a very good Family book with over 6000 Moilanens in family tables in it. A second part of it will come from print next April. The name of the first book is "Kaskimailta kansaksi, Kainuun Moilaset 1600-1800 luvuilla". You can find it in libraries or buy in bookstores. You maybe found my name through www.genealogia.fi , if not, this is the best address to search for your ancestors in Finland. You can use English. I´m afraid that I´m of no help in the case of Pieksämäki area´s Moilanens. The only one in that town I´ve heard about is a famous baker by that very name.
