"Modrat" is really swedish and meens Murder. The Genos article (www.genealogia.fi/genos/68/68_55.htm) tells that Abraham lived with his brother Nils (Niilo) and Nils's family. Nils was 20 yrs older. The house was very small. Abraham was in love with the daughter of the farm nearby. But Nils did not accept Abraham to come and live in their small house with the girl and so Abram did not get the girl and was very angry to his brother about this.
The local priest Fredik Polen was as a "judge" between the brothers and they made an appointment that Abram sold his part of the houset to Nils and moved away. But Abram was still bitter. After a week he came back to the willge and was demanding more money and fight was ready. Abram asked Nils would him back as a workman but Nils was not ready to that. They went both away for a while but Abram got soon back and hit his brother with a "viikate" (dont know what it is english - an eguipment with they cutted hay...) and hit his brother to death.
This happened in 1823 and 30.10.1824 Abraham was executed and his body, head and the other hand was separately to bee seen for every people.... That prist Polen was until the end very much against Abrahams quiltyness. Because he saw that the real "bad partener" in this case had been Nils.
Abraham is said to the last Finn who has sentenced to death because of a crime.
